Install SpecheBox Relay

SpecheBox Relay Setup Wizard

1. Click on in the SpecheBox Toolbar, to open the streaming pop-up.
   
   
   
   
2. Click on the Install SpecheBox Relay link (or click here), to open the SpecheBox Relay publishing page.
   
   
   
   
3. Click on the Install button, to call the SpecheBox Relay setup program.
   
   
   
   
4. Run (or save and run) SBRelay_Setup###.exe, to open The SpecheBox Relay Setup Wizard.
   
   
   • Chrome: Click on SBRelay_Setup###.exe to start the setup wizard.
     
     
     
     
   • Edge: Click on Run to start the setup wizard.
     
     
     
     
   • FireFox: Click on Save File, then click on SBRelay_Setup###.exe in FireFox downloads to start the setup wizard.
     
     
     
     
5. Click Next in the SpecheBox Relay Setup Wizard welcome window.
   
   
   
   
6. Click Next in folder selection window. Optional: Select an alternative install location.
   
   
   
   
7. Click Next to confirm the installation.
   
   
   
   
8. Click Close to exit the setup wizard.
   
   
   
   
9. Start using SpecheBox Relay

Update SpecheBox Relay

1. To check for updates after start-up, click on the Check for Updates menu option.
   
   
   
   
2. Click on Update Available to open the update dialog.
   
   
   
   
3. Click Yes, to start the update process, and open the SpecheBox Relay publishing page.
   
   
   
   
4. Continue with Step 3 of the installation process.

Start SpecheBox Relay

1. Click on in the SpecheBox toolbar, to open the streaming pop-up.
   
   
   
   
2. Click on the Relay Link.
   
   
   
   
3. Choose to open SpecheBox Relay (if needed).
   
   
   • Chrome: Click on Open SpecheBox Relay.
     
     
     
     (Optional) Check the Always open... box.
     
     
     
     
   • Edge: Click on Yes.
     
     
     
     
   • FireFox: Click on Open Link.
     
     
     
     (Optional) Check the Remember... box.
     
     
     
     
4. Connect Your Software

1. Click on in the SpecheBox toolbar, to open the streaming pop-up.
   
   
   
   
2. Save the Event file.
   
   
   
   
3. Run the Event file.
   
   
   • Chrome: Click on E######.sbc.
     
     
     
     
   • Edge: Click on Open.
     
     
     
     
   • FireFox: Click on Save.
     
     
     
     Click on the file (using the FireFox download menu).
     
     
     
     
4. Ready for a connection.
   
   
   
   

Connect Your (Lit. Support) Software

1. Connect to the indicated COM port.
   
   
   • Notification - Note the COM port.
     
     
     
     
   • Display - Note the COM port and data type.
     
     
     
     
2. Fully connected.

3. COM Disconnections: SpecheBox Relay will remain connected to the Event and buffer data until reconnected or closed.
   
   
   
   

Display Panel

• Activity Status - The current action, wait, or failure state.
  
  
  • Waiting on COM Connection - Ready for a COM connection.
  • Fully Connected - A COM connection has been made.
  • No Event Available - The desired event is not availble (live).
  • Disconnecting... - Attempting to close (trigger or failure).
  • Waiting to Close... - Waiting on COM disconnection.
  • Failure Notifications - Troubleshooting notification of key failiure.
  
  
• Data Type - The data type reported to our system.
  
  
  • CaseView - A variation of CaseView, as rendered by the sending CAT software.
  • Bridge - The "LawBridge" protocol used by Eclipse CAT software.
  • ASCII/ANSI - All data formats defined by a Carriage Return (\x0D) and a Line Feed (\x0A).
  • Line 21 - (aka EIA-608 or CEA-608) Closed Caption encoding for television.
  
  
• COM Status - Status of the COM port connection.
  
  
  
  
  • - The COM port is ready for a connection.
  • - The COM port has a connection.
    The COM Port Settings will be displayed while connected.
  • - The COM port connection is closing or not loaded.
  • Port - The COM port to connect your software.
  • COM Port Settings - Baud Rate, Parity, Data Bits, Stop Bits, Flow Control
  
  
• Event Status - Status of the Event connection.
  
  
  
  
  • - Waiting to connect to the Event.
  • - Connected to the Event.
  • - Event connection is closing, unavailable, or failed.
  • Conn - The time of the current Event connection.
  • Duration - The length of the current Event connection.
  
  
• Data Status - Status of the Data tranfer.
  
  
  
  
  • - Data transfer is ready, idle, or buffering.
  • - Data tranfered is active.
  • - Data transfer is closing or not active.
  • Bytes In - The number of bytes received by SpecheBox Relay.
  • Bytes Sent - The number of bytes sent by Spechebox Relay.

Closing SpecheBox Relay

• Disconnect your software, from the COM port, before attempting to close SpecheBox Relay.
• A closure attempt, while connected, will result in a COM closure notification.
  
  
  
  SpecheBox Relay will close when the COM port connection is closed.
  
  
  
  
• Closure of SpecheBox Relay through Task Manager
  
  
  • Any connected COM port, at the time of closure, will be unavailable to SpecheBox Relay until the operating system is restarted.
  • SpecheBox Relay will choose the next available port, until the original port becomes available.
  • Applications connecting to SpecheBox Relay will need to connect to the new port, until the original port becomes available.
  
  

Repair or Uninstall

• Locate SpecheBox Relay in the installed programs list (Apps & Feature, Remove Programs, etal.). Choose repair, change, remove, or uninstall, as desired and offered by the version of your operating system.
• Run the SpecheBox Relay setup program and choose Repair or Remove*. The SpecheBox Relay setup program is available at the SpecheBox Relay publishing page.
  * Repair and Remove are only availalbe for matching versions (install and setup). Newer setup versions will follow the Update / Installation process.
